OK, I'm sooooo not getting beaten to the punch this time! Heh heh heh. Anyway, here's CHOP's post asking who would win in a fight between the characters of Optimus Prime and Fire Convoy. It's actually one of his more intelligent queries, but his rational for Fire Convoy beating Optimus is because the toy has better articulation. Altogether now... WTCHOP? In hand-to-hand combat, Fire Convoy would dance up to Optimus Prime and tip him over. I'll be sure to keep track of this thread and see if it gets any stupider : )

Actually, Maniacal 1 may be correct on this matter. Have you ever noticed that whenever CHOP is shot down, they post a thread asking why no one likes him. Oh, and for the record, CHOP's dug his own grave. If he truly wanted to renounce his previous stupidity, he need do no more than establish a new personality and post intelligently, but alas, he seems unable to figure that out! Skywarp

I agree. I'm always suspicious when people "know" each other in real life. Dinobot Grimlock seemingly knew Screamer in real life and see how THAT turned out! And I can't BELIEVE that CHOP is comparing their fighting ability to the way their toys are put togeher! Besides, aren't Prime's Tech Specs nothing but 10's?

What I find annoying is how he constantly makes comparisons to G1 when he OBVIOUSLY doesn't know JACK SHIT about G1! Going back to what he said about Fire Convoy and Prime fighting. He said that Fire Convoy could just pick him up and eat him. ??? THEY'RE THE SAME SIZE, YOU FOOL!!! That obviously means that CHOP has NEVER seen G1, not even the movie! He must think that Transformers were ALWAYS human-size, like in Beast Wars, and that it's only NOW, in Car Robots, that theyre making giants. I know it's hard to believe. I ask myself, "Could he really BE that stupid?". But then I remind myself that it's CHOP we're talking about.

Then again, Fire Convoy's younger, so he would know all the "moves." (I think that's how Americans put it.) And Fire Convoy has more articulation than Optimus Prime. But wait! Optimus Prime has better figure than Fire Convoy, so he would get all the women. On the other hand, Optimus Prime sports a huge laser rifle which he uses to blast TFs he doesn't like. Then again, Fire Convoy has a big shoulder-mounted bazooka he could use to frag anyone who gets in his... Hold on. I think everything just boiled down to one big slugfest. The reissue news comes off the heels of the return of the transforming car design of the Transformers 2000 line of Cybertrons (Autobots). We asked at the Toy Fair why they are reissuing one of the most coveted transformers. A representative with Takara said, "Although the Beast Wars line has done well, we have had a lot of requests from the fans for a return to the old car design. We also found that the number one requested transformer for reissue was Convoy. We feel that the fans will be pleasantly surprised with the direction our Transformer line will be heading in." Also seen at the Toy Fair were the next two transformable cars in the T2K - line they are a Formula One Racecar and a Tow Truck. Also, in a last minute surprise, Takara unveiled some additions to its line of reissued toys. These are the very impressive Black Battle Convoy which is a reissue of 1995 Generation 2 Laser Optimus Prime. Also shown was Fortress Maximus, which was displayed as part of a diorama. "Fort Max" was the biggest surprise of the fair; the rumors of his re-release have been circulating for some time now. Takara said that they were not done with the reissues yet and that we would have to stay tuned in to see new developments. The Prime Reissue is scheduled for June but the others will be announced in the coming months. It is certain that you will soon see a media blitz for the new line of figures. Already Takara has scheduled ads in Figure O, Hobby Japan, Dengeki Hobby, Hyper Hobby, Bon Bon, and other magazines. And here's ANOTHER thread CHOP started, this time trying to ressurrect that whole "Mach Alert is better than G1 Prowl" thing. Kasady Voorhees reviews TF:CR Mach Alert! Author Topic: Kasady Voorhees reviews TF:CR Mach Alert! Combat Hero Optimus Prime General posted 05-04-2000 11:47 AM "Hasbro tried to make us forget. Skir said they were gone. But Takara didn't have their final say. Decepticon Ravage returned in a Transmetal Cheetor remold exclusive to Japan, but that was not the final word. Now, with Car Robots, the final word is here. The Autobots make a return, strong as ever. Mach Alert is one of the newest Autobots under the command of Fire Convoy, a general serving under Optimus Prime. The final word? "And that's the bottom line, cause Takara said so!" In Package: The smaller CR toys all come on cards, breaking the rule of all Takara TF toys being boxed. The toy sits in a sturdy plastic bubble, with the weapons and instructions. The character-specific art is on a cardboard insert. The bubble has a gold sticker with a red Autobot symbol and some writing("15" followed by Japanese text). The upper part of the bobble extends to the top where the tech spec card sits. The front of the card is generic for all 3 of the deluxe cars. The half with the card has an explosion/fire design. The other half is red with Super Fire Convoy's head at the top left corner(with an outline cut around it), the Japanese "Car Robots" logo, and the word "CYBERTRON" down the side. The back of the card has several toy pictures, in both modes, and some action shots. The backgound is the same explosion pattern as on the front. The upper L corner has the CR logo, and the upper R corner has a small toy group shot of all the Autobots and Predacons(Cybertrons and Destrongers, respectively) with all the first releases of the line. A small text block has 5 stars on it. This may be similar to Hasbro's "transformation difficulty" rating. The bottom of the card has the standard safety warnings and copyrights, and the robot points(yes, Takara still uses them after all these years). The Autobot symbol is on the points. Car Mode: It's a return to Earth style car forms. Mach Alert is similar to the design of Sideswipe/Red Alert, though updated quite a bit. He is a police car, with transparent red lights on the top. He can roll on his wheels, which are rubber(though a harder material than G1 tires). The tires have "Transformers" written on one half, and "2000" on the other. Japanese text sits on each door(I'm guessing it says "POLICE", but I have no translation for this). the car is mostly white with black details. He measures about 5 1/2" long in this mode. Now those launchers. He comes with 2 white launchers, which fore by the same pressure system used in Beast Machines and ont he Cyberjets. Each missile is clear, with the main portion done in a flame molding, and painted to look like flames, much like Tankor's missile. Each launcher has a slot, which can fit on either the roof lights as forward launchers, or by flipping up the ends of the back spoiler, they can be placed forward as launchers, or backward as rocket boosters. Robot Mode: I'm doing this the first time, from the instructions. Pull the doors out and fold them forward. Fold the roof up, and fold the front of the car upward. Fold the legs out. Flip the feet out and push the waist bar in. Fold the front of the car in(a disgram here shows how to do it). Turn the lower legs and feet around. Fold the roof down. Turn the car over. Fold down the block with the exhaust pipes, and push it in. Split the back sides. The sides form the shoulders. Pose the right arm, fold down the left arm, and flip the shiled to the other side of the left arm. The launchers can either fit on the arms, or on his back as jump-jets. BW-style design in a G1-style alt-mode, who would have thought? Most of the car hangs off him like a split shell, but I like it. He has lots of joints. The only pieces that get in the way are the doors, which form a Rhinox-style "skirt". The shield doesn't get in the way much, despite the size. A large chrome red Autobot symbol sits on his chest. Both hands are opened, but he has no hand-held weapons. Poseability lies in 4 arm joints each, the neck, and 4 leg joints each. Lots of blue and grey are also visible in this mode. The exhaust pipes can also be folded out as lasers if you want more firepower. He stands about 5 1/2" tall. Overall: A wonderful toy, back to the old days without ignoring the new technology. Fun: 10 Price: 10 Durability: 10 Transformation: 10 Average: 10 Fun:Numerous places for the launchers, lots of joints, and the wheels roll. Price:Retails for about $16(US) in Japan, some dealers have these for up to $30. I paid $20, he was well worth it, considering the import prices. Durability:The only real breakage point is the shield base, and it will probably loosen a bit over time, reducing the breakage capability. The joints are all very sturdy. Transformation/Features:Nice and complex for the size, but even without the instructions, most is easy to figure out. The instruction art is extremely clear as well, unlike Hasbro's attempts at instruction drawings lately. The aunchers aren't very complex, but they go all over on this guy, serving as launchers and jets. Conclusion:Very few toys get a solid 10 from me, and the ones that do have done something special to earn it. Mach Alert was one of the few. Not just due to being an Autobot, but because Takara clearly did some great work here, taking Beast Wars level poseability and using it on a G1 vehicle form. Some fans still haven't fully warmed up to the idea, but most are getting there fast. And while Beast Machines tries to re-write history and messed up our favorite BW characters to draw new fans, Takara steps in and picks up the pieces, reviving the great things about the line." How's that, Super Fire Convoy? Sure, you can argue that I have no jurisdiction to review TF:CR Mach Alert, but you can't argue with Viper Sniper, and you certainly can't argue with Kasady Voorhees. Combat Hero Optimus Prime General posted 05-08-2000 07:45 AM I have rewritten the treatment so all the TFs (meaning ALL) are techno-organic. However, I don't mean techno-organic in the BM sense. Rather, the TFs in the script have metal and stuff on the outside, but blood and internal organs on the inside. For example, if one were to shoot Vehicon General Blitzstorm hard enough in the chest, the result would be a very large crimson crater fed by arterial blood from a shattered heart. In a nutshell, dead meat mixed with metal shards. Also, the Vehicon drones in the script are now sentient and capable and speech and thought, although they are by no means smarter than grunts. However, this does allow for more interesting Vehicon character development. (It just didn't do for Blitzstorm to walk around talking to himself the whole time.) S P O I L E R Also, at the beginning of the script, the Vehicons no longer control all of Cybertron, our half of it. Most of the Vehicons are dead, and the survivors are confined a small metallic strip of Cybertron. These Vehicons are commanded by General Blitzstorm. One more thing: like I already said, all the humans on Earth are dead (consumed by the G2 Swarm). Instead, Earth is now governed by the Autobot-Decepticon Council. I mentioned this already, but I just thought I'd say it again. Any suggestions? these androids are human. They eat, sleep, look and behave like
humans, depending on the complexity of their programming. Inside
though, they don't look anything like humans. Sure, they have blood,
but it's white frothy android blood, full of nanotechs and stuff.
And they have internal organs, but they're synthetic and mainly used
for rerouting power and mech fluid.Another example is that big ship from Star Trek: Voyager. Voyager runs on bioneural circuitry, but does that make it techno-organic? Well, I guess so... In the treatment I'm writing, I do not focus on the techno-organic aspect of TFs at all. Occasionally a TF gets shot or something, and I make references to mech fluid (delibarately colored red) and mangled pumps, organs and bioneural wiring. They still have sparks. They still transform.
